XX is the first rap project of SISTERQUEENS with girls* from the intercultural center for girls* and young women* MÄDEA/Foundation Spi in Wedding. This resulted in the song "GirlThisTrack", in which girls* use lyrics and attitude to diss discrimination and name prejudices as such.
Du sagst du zwingst mich nicht, doch du überredest mich! Ist das deine Pflicht? Nein das ist es nicht!
(Excerpt „GirlThisTrack“)
During writing workshops and rap workshops with the rappers Sister Fa and Sandra Selimovic, there is an intense engagement with topics surrounding the history and present of hip hop from a feminist and intersectional perspective. Connections are made between personal experiences and those of others, between female rap and the history of the Black Panther movement as a historical reference for self-organized resistance. Over time, the girls find their own approach to rap as an artistic means of expressing their reality and addressing social injustices. The process resulted in a music video and two collectively created songs, which were performed at a concert at Theater X.
XX not only laid the foundation for the long-standing cooperation with MÄDEA, but the participating girls also developed the name SISTERQUEENS as a self-designation. Since then, SISTERQUEENS stands for principles such as sisterhood, multiple authorship, and youth rap by, with, and for Minta* and Flinta*.

On August 26, 1984, seven people lost their lives in a racist arson attack in Duisburg-Wanheimerort: Ferdane Satır, Zeliha Turhan, Rasim Turhan, Tarık Turhan, Çiğdem Satır, Ümit Satır, and Songül Satır. The survivors and relatives were left alone for decades—politicians, authorities, and the public did not talk about racism.
It was not until 2018 that they founded the Duisburg 1984 initiative, which has since combined education, remembrance work, and solidarity struggles with other victims of right-wing, racist, and anti-Semitic violence.
