sister*hood

sister*hood is a project of several years for girls* and young women* from Mehringplatzkiez (Kreuzberg) . Through artistic workshops and jointly organized events, spaces for and by girls* and young women* from the neighborhood are created, expanded and opened. The focus is on providing tools to express their themes artistically and connect with others.

Urban space always means dialogue, intervention and connections. Spaces overlap, border on each other and cross each other. In the Mehringplatz neighbourhood, many girls* and young women* look for their own space to shape. The sister*hood project seeks to strengthen these connections and initiatives through artistic means, creative offerings and resources and to create access to new spaces. To this end, Peira cooperates with local youth institutions and collaborates with the artists Aliza Yanes Viacava and Ximena Gutiérrez Toro.

The project is based on a cooperation with HAU to connect (Theater Hebbel am Ufer) and outreach (street social work). Funded by Quartiersmanagement am Mehringplatz as part of the program Sozialer Zusammenhalt.
