40 spectators. Everyone is asked to hand in their cash before the performance - it will be distributed at the end, but how? The performance College for the Rediscovery of Class Consciousness is a playful setting in which the audience practically tests their own position in society and the unequal distribution of resources. The starting point is a series of conversations with participants from different professional backgrounds.
There is a fight against racism, capitalism, and for feminism. These struggles are often separated and a fundamental solidarity is missing. How can the demands of factory workers, refugees, unemployed individuals, and those who work in households be formulated in a way that their interests become a collective interest? In a series of discussions in Frankfurt, Mannheim, and Berlin, we spoke with trade unionists and strike alliances, sex workers, journalists, professors, representatives of blind organizations, and sociologists about a contemporary "class consciousness" that is able to formulate individual concerns as common ones.
The result of this artistic research was a performance. The audience was led through playful scenarios, such as a wedding celebration or a lunch in the cafeteria of a large company, experiencing the different thoughts of the guests of the discussion series.
The guests of the discussion series: Bojana Kunst (SVN), Juanita Henning (Doña Carmen e.V. - Verein für soziale und politische Rechte von Prostituierten) (D), Christian Krähling (Amazon-Streik-Bündnis) (D), Elfriede Harth (Netwerk Care Revolution) (D/COL), Nikita Dhawan (IN), Maria do Mar Castro Varela (ES/D), International Women’s Space (int/D), David Riff (RUS/D), Freie Arbeiterinnen- und Arbeiter-Union (D), unter_bau (D), Black Diaspora School (D), Illia Yakovenko (UKR), Gregory Sholette (US), Stefanie Sargnagel (AUT), Anna Kow (D), Siegfried Saerberg (D), Katherine Braun (D), Alex Demirović (D), Roswitha Scholz (D), Paula Ezquerra (ARG/ES) und Xiomara Tortoza (VE/D)

Do you have an idea for an art education project and would like to learn how to develop a concept and apply for funding? We offer a two-day training course at the Brücke-Museum on how to apply for funding, financial planning and legal forms. Participants have time to develop an educational concept. A selected concept will later be realized in the Brücke-Museum.
The workshop is primarily aimed at artists or artists with a history of migration. If there is still capacity, freelancers without a history of migration can also take part.
Date: September 15 and 29, 12am–5pm (two-day training course)
